FAQs

  • Yes I am in network with Horizon BCBS and Aetna in select states:

    Aetna: New Jersey & Maryland

Horizon BCBS(blue plan w/ suitcase on bottom):

    NJ, NY, MD, FL

Horizon BCBS (PPO, managed care plans):

    NJ, NY

I suggest you call your insurance company to inquire about your mental health benefits and network status. My NPI# is 1114565322.

All other insurance companies are considered out of network. You would pay my rate upfront, I will bill your insurance company (if you want me to) and you will receive reimbursement in the mail (if you have out of network benefits). For out of network, you have the right to request a Good Faith Estimate under the No Surprises Act, and one will be provided to you upon request or scheduling.

  • My rate is $200 per 53-55 minute session. That is the rate you pay for private pay or out of network services. If I am in network with your insurance company, you will be responsbile for any contracted amount which includes your deductible and/or copayment.

  • If you have out-of-network mental health benefits, many insurance plans will reimburse approximately 60–80% of the session fee after your deductible has been met. Reimbursement varies by plan, so it’s important to confirm your specific coverage.

You’re welcome to contact your insurance provider directly by calling the Member Services number on the back of your insurance card, or I’m happy to review your benefits with you during a free intro call (please have your insurance card and Member ID available).

When speaking with your insurance representative, you may want to ask:

    • Do I have out-of-network outpatient mental health coverage, and does it apply to telehealth?

    • What is my out-of-network deductible, and how much of it has already been met this year?

    • What percentage of each psychotherapy session is reimbursed (co-insurance)?

    • Is there a limit to the number of sessions covered per year?

    • Do I need a referral to see an out-of-network provider?

    • How much will I be reimbursed for a 53-minute psychotherapy session (CPT code 90837)?

    • How do I submit claims for reimbursement, and how long does reimbursement typically take?

I provide courtesy billing where I will directly bill your insurance company and you will receive your reimbursement check in the mail. I can also provide you a superbill to submit on your own.

  • Therapy starts as a weekly 50-55 minute commitment (especially if it is clinically relevant or you are committing to a modality such as EMDR or Brainspotting). When symptoms start to improve or when appropriate, we explore going down to biweekly or monthly.

  • Cancelations prior to 24 hours before your scheduled appointment are preferred. If you cancel after then, you will be charged a $75 late cancelation fee. If you no show, you will be charged a $75 no show fee. Fees will be waived under emergency circumstances.

  • A credit or debit card is required on file. I accept most major debit/credit cards and also accept FSA/HSA cards.

  • I am licensed in New Jersey, New York, Maryland and Florida.

  • I am a virtual psychotherapy practice. We will be meeting on a HiPAA compliant video platform. I suggest using a laptop for most optimal sessions, especially if you are interested in EMDR or Brainspotting.

  • Yes, most of my practice experience includes conducting EMDR or Brainspotting virtually. A laptop will be required for these type of appointments.

  • I mainly work with adult women but occasionally I will work with teens 12+ should they be an appropriate fit (clinically as well as benefit from virtual therapy). At this time, I don’t work with children as I believe their best bet is seeing an in person therapist.

Here’s how to become a client:

  1. Fill out the following form so we can meet for a 15-30 minute free consultation call.

  2. Please have prepared the following for our call:

    • The reason you are seeking out services (symptoms, patterns, what you would like to work on or improve of)

    • What you have tried before to help you

    • Your schedule to see if it matches mine

  3. If I have decided that I can help and we both think this is a good match, your first session will be scheduled and you will fill out intake paperwork and consent forms to be completed.
